Jamie Allen

Jamie Allen is a Canadian artist, researcher and educator working across critical media, infrastructure, ecology, technology and collective forms of learning. He is Senior Researcher at the metaLab Havard*Basel*Berlin, FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel, and guest faculty with the Max Planck Institute of Geoanthropology and NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. His practice moves between artistic research, writing, teaching and collaborative projects concerned with how technical systems shape social and ecological life. Recent work has focuses on metabolic media, logistics, water, food systems, islands and convivial infrastructures. He is a co-initiator of Islands of Conviviality, developed with ISSA Island School of Social Autonomy and a growing network of collaborators across the Dalmatian islands, the Adriatic sea, and beyond.
