Giulio Gonella

Giulio Gonella is a spatial researcher and educator, currently a PhD candidate in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research explores the materialities of environmental violence, the weaponisation of (post)colonial ecologies, and the histories of agro-extractivism. He is completing a dissertation on Dutch ecological imperialism and struggles for land in Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, focusing on the material legacies and memorial landscapes of the plantation-form. He is soon to relocate to Paris.
