Pablo Lafuente is a writer, teacher and curator working in São Paulo and Porto Seguro, where he is visiting professor at the UFSB. He was part of the curatorial team of the 31st Bienal de São Paulo (2014) and the curator of A Singular Form at Secession, Vienna (2014). Until 2014 he was an editor for Afterall and Afterall Books, and from 2008 to 2013 Associate Curator at Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA), Oslo. He is the author of, among others, Cultural Anthropophagy: 24th Bienal de São Paulo 1998 (with Lisette Lagnado, Afterall Books, 2015), A Singular Form (Secession and Revolver, 2014), and Whatever Happened to Sex in Scandinavia? (with Marta Kuzma, König Books and OCA, 2011). He is currently developing a 4-year project that looks at the pre-Colombian collection of Casa del Alabado in Quito, Ecuador, from a contemporary art perspective (in collaboration with Manuela Moscoso and Manuela Ribadeneira).
