LJMU School of Art and Design

Liverpool John Moores University's School of Art and Design has been synonymous with developing cutting-edge, thoughtful art and design practice since its earliest inception as the Liverpool Mechanics Institute in 1825.

Over the years Liverpool School of Art and Design has gone through many changes, in both name and location, but the essence still remains - striving to continually develop contemporary disciplines through fostering strong collaborations with international partners, excelling in teaching and learning, embedding research and scholarship in all that we do and engaging both socially and economically with our communities.

The School hosts the Exhibition Research Centre, the first academic centre of its kind dedicated to the study of exhibitions and curatorial practice, as well as cutting-edge research groups in Art, Design and Architecture.
